Well said sir! what a shame!

sharper68 says:

Of course it is a right, equal treatment under the law is a right. They get tax breaks to encourage people to have children and as a recognition that raising the next generation of Americans is expensive and should be supported. I see it as fair. No, there is no reason to oppose it no matter what 1968 stat you dug up. As long as any special privilege is applied against marriage it should be up to the feds to regulate it. This is about equal rights of everyone and that will always be federal.

AceofDiamonds0 says:

and for the people who cant be productive and work their just shit out of luck?

whyamimrpink78 says:

Marriage isn’t a right. Why do married people get tax breaks? I don’t see that as fair. Divorce is higher amongst interracial couples so there could be a legit reason why to oppose it. How about the government not get involved with marriage at all, that is more of my position. If there is any government involvement in it it should be at that state level. At the federal level it has become a way to buy votes.

sharper68 says:

I simply don’t agree, if you get married in any state it should carry to anywhere else in the union, If we had your way there would still be states who would deny interracial marriage and it should not be down to the bias of a region what rights any American gets. The legal implications associated with marriage with regard to access to family in hospitals are so important that they should be universally recognized and to argue otherwise is nothing but a path to suffering for families.

whyamimrpink78 says:

In marriage that should be left to the states. There is a reason why the founding fathers wanted state rights and didn’t want a big federal government. Politicians use marriage as a way to get married. If one state recognizes marriage and another doesn’t that is fine. Some stated don’t have an income tax. Some states have zero food tax. That is their way of running their state. When I moved to another state I had to get my car registered and a new license.

whyamimrpink78 says:

Businesses are not hiring more because it is too expensive to hire anyone. Regulations and taxes are hindering businesses from hiring. Imagine you wanted buy something you could use to improve you way of life, chances are you will. Now imagine that in order to buy certain thing it was taxed high and you have to go through some regulations in order to buy. You probably won’t get it anymore since it is too expensive and so much work it isn’t worth getting. Same goes for business and hiring.

sharper68 says:

Certainly not less as the workforce is much smaller than it ones was. The number of hours each person works has gone up and our productivity has never been better yet none of the massive profits being reaped are flowing back to the people who work. Since it is a matter of law the federal government should be involved with marriage so it means the same thing in every state. I have never seen a good argument that marriage should be different from state to state.

The guy who sold weapons to Iran and Iraq during their border war? The guy who allowed funding for terrorism in Nicaragua? The guy who sent Marines to their death en masse to Lebanon at the hands of Syrian troops? The guy whose economic policies caused recessions in the twilight of his career? The man who bartered with Iran with weapons, then wormed out of any trouble from a congressional hearing?

Eric Jaffa says:

We should make Medicaid completely federal. Then states won’t be able to deny it to people who need it.

whyamimrpink78 says:

We are more productive because of technology so actually we are working less. The federal government shouldn’t me involved in marriage. Why do married people get certain tax breaks but others don’t? It should be a state issue instead it is now a way for the government to buy votes. And we don’t live in the democracy. Nothing at the federal level is ever determine by a majority vote.

CO2Junkie says:

They can also drink until they destroy their liver. But if they say that the alcohol has nothing to do with their liver failure then I will call them a twat.

People can acquire wealth. If they take such a large slice of the collective pie that it turns America’s economy into a Mexican economy, then I have the right to call them greedy twats.

You can be a corporate shill but if you promote corp interests over the health of our nation then I will call you a fascistic twat. Where am I losing you?

cbohar84 says:

I’m guessing you’re one of those socialist retards I’ve been hearing about. Guess what, dumbass? We live in a country where every citizen has the RIGHT to accumulate wealth

sharper68 says:

You are right we consistently have the choice between a giant douche and a shit sandwich. I choose the douche as I just can not stand the taste of shit that voting republican leaves behind. Both are parties are fundamentally corrupt, but one is insane.

sharper68 says:

We have never worked harder or been more productive yet our wages have been flat for 30 years while the top 1% have grown in wealth by 30%. The government is involved in marriage as it is a legal contract and has tax and legal status implications, they have to be involved. People voting to ensure their rights is as natural as breathing and it is what a democracy is about. I see you do not like democracy, you should move to a dictator state and not seek to make us one.

sharper68 says:

Except they are now gaming to the system so no one is moving up but themselves. As workers we are the most productive we have ever been but none of the massive profits are flowing back to the workers that make them possible. Hard work is not longer respected here, only a fat bank account is. Your blather about handouts might be more effective if I did not know we have one of the weakest social safety nets in the developed world. The rich correctly take heat because they are buying our leaders.

edavismookie25 says:

You got to be almost dead before you can get medicaid in the good Christian state of Mississippi…unbelievable…

edavismookie25 says:

edavismookie25 says:

You just pretty much summed up the modern right wing. Take massive entitlements, handouts, and money from the government but criticize the citizenry (that elected their ass) when they do it. They are the biggest fucking hypocrites that I can think of.

edavismookie25 says:

Hell, homosexuality wasn’t a issue at all in the ancient (and parts of the medieval) world. It was common for Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians for example to have a sexual relationship (openly) with members of the same sex. Didn’t become an issue until the Jews, Christians, and later Muslims condemned it because the god of their “holy texts” said so.

edavismookie25 says:

Too funny but true. His administration was the most corrupt in American history. More corrupt than Ulysses Grant’s and Warren G. Harding’s. Both of whom’s administrations were corrupt as fuck.

gyrate4 says:

That’s why the hillbilly states are passing stricter voter I.D laws.

They’ve been elected by the tea party with the intention of destroying the federal government. They should be tried for treason, but that won’t happen.

Shit, I didn’t know about that one, that’s going on the list after I read some more about it :P

“the rich are actually productive”
You do realise that much modern business produces nothing.
There are plenty of idle rich people, and many others that work hard, but receive far more compensation than is reasonable.
There are people that work very hard in necessary jobs that get paid next to nothing.

whyamimrpink78 says:

……them. Instead of working hard and appreciating what they have they attack the rich, the people who are actually productive in this country. We have now given the federal government so much power that it is beyond control. And the homosexual comment was an example of how it has happen. The fed. government shouldn’t be involved with marriage to begin with. Since it is though now gay marriage is another way to buy votes. It is another method to buy votes and gain more power.

whyamimrpink78 says:

Too few have consolidated wealth? You will always have rich people and the US use to be the place where you can be lower class and move up. Look at Jeff Bezos, he moved up. The problem is that we developed a welfare state. Welfare is where some do well off of other’s fare. This country was built on hard work through agriculture and then industry. Now it is a nation of excuses and handouts and politicians are winning votes that way. People despise the rich so they elect politicians to attack….

CO2Junkie says:

You read like a brainwashed twat. The name calling isn’t necessary but I calls it as I sees it.

The REAL issue is that too few have consolidated too much wealth. Government corruption by the masses we call “democracy”. Government corruption by the wealthy we call “plutocracy” at best & “fascism” at worst. What we have in the US is getting closer & closer to the latter.

BTW Homosexuality wasn’t an issue in ancient Rome. It’s just an issue in your twat brain full of rightwing talking points.

whyamimrpink78 says:

The problem now and the same with Rome is that government got too powerful and can be bought and got corrupt. Bought by either the rich or the government can give out handouts. Either way it has gotten too powerful and now look at the mess. We can break it down and look at really major issue but lets look at one minor one, gay marriage. If the federal government has never gotten involved with marriage to begin with then gay marriage wouldn’t be an issue. It has now become another way to buy vote

CO2Junkie says:

Eh… you’ve left out the greed and laziness of the wealthy and powerful of ancient Rome. The wealthy and powerful were born to wealthy and powerful parents. They likely had little respect for what it took to gain that privileged position and had massive entitlement issues while having no respect for the working class… that sounds like today’s Republican party.

Something else you left out, the environmental catastrophe that was ancient Rome near the time of its collapse. Again, familiar.

whyamimrpink78 says:

Here is the problem in this country. We are becoming like Rome. Rome was built from very hard working people and that is how it establish themselves. When they became very powerful future generations became lazier and lazier and depended more and more on the government for handouts. The economy suffer, Rome printed weak money, and eventually fell apart. That is what is happen in the US. We need to stop handouts and depending on the government and we need to start being productive and working.

The guy who blew the military budget to astronomical proportions? That Ronald Reagan? Please, give me more pearls of wisdom from that senile, puppet b-grade actor.
